1. Australia’s next Bachelor could be an athlete/children’s book author named Dave.

Goodness.

It feels like yesterday that Australia met astrophysicist Matt Agnew for the first time before having 20 women vie for his love on national television.

But it wasn’t. It was about six months ago now (HOW?) and we are onto the next.

A man by the name of Dave Pow Tabain has shared a screenshot of a message he received from a casting producer for The Bachelor 2020

“We are currently casting for the next series of The Bachelor Australia and searching for the man himself,” the message read. “We were hoping to chat to you about the casting process if you were first of all single? And if you were interested in hearing more at all?”

So who is the potential next Bachelor?

The 30-year-old is a children’s book author and world-champion athlete, who has had a good ol’ laugh at the saga.

“I had a bit of a laugh and I don’t watch TV but I’d heard a lot about the Bachelor and I thought it was funny they were hitting me up via Instagram to get me to apply,” Tabain has since said.

“I wouldn’t downplay the potential it (The Bachelor) has to meet someone that could be the right fit for you, because you never know when you’re going to meet them.

“It could be on the street corner, it could be in your DMs, it could be on a plane, it could be standing in line at a cafe. If you’re going to go on it you have to go all out.”

Tabain has also since put ‘Bachelor’ in his Instagram bio, so I guess you could say it’s getting pretty serious.

2. “I need to move on with my life”: Robin Bailey is returning to radio after the death of her husband.

Robin Bailey has just announced that she will be returning 97.3FM, three years after being axed from the network.

Earlier today, Bailey shared the news that she will be back, reuniting with co-host Terry Hansen and anchor Bob Gallagher from Tuesday, January 28.

In 2016, Bailey was blindsided when 97.3FM decided not to renew her contract, after 10 years on the show.

Quickly making the move to Triple M in 2017, she remained there until her late-husband, Sean Pickwell, got sick with terminal cancer.

Six days after she left the show to be by his side, Mr Pickwell passed away.

The universe works in strange ways and this opportunity with two guys I know so well plus our gorgeous producer Ruth , is a gift . It is a safe and fun space for us all. The video features the two of them singing the traditional birthday song, switching back and forth between them.

However, they changed the lyrics, making it a competition for who loves Betty White the most.

“From Sandy, who loves you more than Ryan,” Bullock sings before Reynolds jumps in with, “From Ryan, who loves you so much more than Sandy.”

“What does Sandy do for you every year?” Reynolds continues.

“I mean, does she like… show up and hand-deliver flowers for you wearing nothing but black socks and a dozen gold bracelets, just like you requested? Doubt it.”

Happy birthday indeed, Betty.

4. Eminem is being cancelled over an “insensitive” lyric about the 2017 Ariana Grande concert bombing.

Fans have shared their disapproval of a new Eminem song that includes a controversial line about the Manchester bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in 2017 that killed 22 people.

In a song Unaccomodating, on his new album ‘Music to be Murdered By’, Eminem raps: “But I’m contemplating yelling ‘bombs away’ on the game/Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting.’”

Fans of Ariana Grande began a hashtag on Twitter, #EminemIsOverParty, as they publicly condemned Eminem’s insensitivity.

Figen Murray, whose child Martyn Hett was killed in the Manchester bombing, accused Eminem of trying to leverage off Grande’s fame and expressed her disapproval of the song.

“Not clever,” Murray wrote on Twitter. “Totally pointless.”

5. “He stopped breathing”: The original Yellow Wiggle is recovering after he collapsed on stage during bushfire relief concert.

Original Wiggles member, Greg Page, collapsed and went into cardiac arrest at a bushfire relief concert in Sydney on Friday.

The original Yellow Wiggle was taken to hospital after falling to the ground as he left the stage on Friday night, moments before the group were due to sing the final song of the night, ‘Hot Potato’.

The concert, which was raising money for the Australia Red Cross and WIRES, was an over-18 event that adults could attend at the Castle Hill RSL or stream online.

Speaking to Channel 7, The Wiggles’ manager Paul Field revealed: “He was in such a serious way last night, he needed CPR… we had two of our cast and crew working on him, they used the defibrillator on him three times – he was in a bad way.”

“Everything seems like it’s taking forever when you’re waiting for an (ambulance). A nurse from the audience came up and kind of took charge, but two of our cast – Steve the drummer and Kim who works in our office – did CPR on him, they saved his life. Seriously.

“He stopped breathing a number of times. It was quite dramatic for everyone around to witness it. We’re all a bit shocked.”

The Wiggles have also updated fans on Page from his hospital bed, saying: “Greg’s main concern was that the show tonight should go on.⁣ Greg will not be performing tonight but we will have some wiggly friends jumping in to help out and make it a great show.”
