Good news, Love Island fans! A new season of the English reality TV dating show Love Island UK is here, and it’s four months earlier than expected.

Even better, the first season airs in Australia tonight (Tuesday, January 14) so here’s everything you need to know about Love Island 2020. Yes, including where you can stalk all the Love Island season six cast and how to watch Love Island UK in Australia.

What is Love Island Winter 2020?

Love Island in… winter?

Because British TV network ITV2 knows what the people want, they’ve decided to air two seasons of Love Island this year.

The regular ‘summer’ version will take place during Europe’s summer break from June to August in Majorca, Spain, but the season that’s starting now is a winter version set in a new villa in South Africa.

The Love Island South Africa villa has had an upgrade and now features a ‘dog house’ fold-out bed area where people can sleep when they’ve pissed off their partner, and an even bigger fire pit area for potentially the most Islanders we’ve seen in one season.

Leanne has a degree in occupational psychology and once competed in Miss Ghana UK. She’s looking for a real-life Gerard Butler who’s “rugged and manly, not anyone with a pretty face” and is “loyal and trustworthy”.

Yep, we have twins! Eve and Jess Gale have reportedly worked around the world as VIP hostesses for the likes of rapper and Kylie Jenner’s ex, Tyga. They say they have the same taste in men, but won’t be fighting over people in the villa.

As for what they’re looking for? Eve wants a “switched on alpha male” who’s “fun and confident,” and Jess also wants a confident guy who is “self- assured, kind, respectful and on the same intelligence level as me.”

Shaughna is a London-based democratic services officer, which means it’s her job to manage the democratic processes of local authorities and councils. Makes sense as she’s hoping to become a politician after Love Island.

The most important qualities she wants in a partner are: someone she can watch the news with who is “funny, a little bit smart, but not smarter than me.”

Sophie Piper.

British people might recognise Sophie as the younger sister of English singer and television presenter, Rochelle Humes. The 21-year-old from Essex also randomly went to school with former Love Island winner Kem Cetinay.

She’s interested in meeting someone “tall and tanned with light eyes who doesn’t take themselves too seriously.” Oh, and she wants a guy with “something about them”, which Love Island fans will know as meaning someone with a certain flair.

Paige has semi-made a name for herself as a singer prior to coming on Love Island 2020 – she was on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 and currently has 85K Instagram followers. Fun fact: she also dated Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi.

Paige is after a tall, dark and handsome partner who’s “quite witty with a bit of banter”. She also wants someone with “something about him”.

Connor from Brighton describes himself as the kind of person who says whatever’s on his mind – perfect for a reality TV star.

He’s after someone who’s outgoing with a big personality. He also wants someone who is “loving and isn’t embarrassed to show it in front of people.” Being family orientated and able to fit in with his mates are also high on his list of criteria.

Nas reckons he’s “different” to the other typical Love Island men from past seasons. He also says his worst habit is laughing in awkward situations. His ideal partner is someone who’s cute, funny and can match his energy.

Ollie comes from a British aristocratic family – his father’s official title is Lord of the Manor of Lanhydrock, Viscount Clifden. A self-described alpha male, Ollie says his dream woman is “blonde, athletic and funny” like his celebrity crush is Lily James.

Love Island 2020 host who’s not Caroline Flack.

Finally, let’s address the elephant in the villa because Caroline Flack is not the host of Love Island UK season 6.

After hosting the show for five seasons, Flack stepped down from the role in December 2019 after she was charged with assault, following reports of an altercation with boyfriend Lewis Burton.

The Love Island 2020 host is Laura Whitmore, an Irish presenter and actress known for presenting British shows I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW! and Survival of the Fittest.

She also happens to be dating Iain Stirling, the comedian who’s been doing the Love Island UK voice overs since 2015.
